SYMMETRIC ENCRYPTION: symmetric encryption uses the same key to encrypt and devrypt the data. For example, when transmitting encrypted data, symmetric encryption algorithms use the same key to encrypt and decrypt data at both ends of transmission.

ASSYMETRIC ENCRYPTION: assymetric encryption uses 2 keys in a matched pair to encrypt and decrypt data i.e, a public key and private key. There are several imp points to remeber with these keys.

1.if the public key encrypts information, only the matching private key can decryot the same information.

2.if the private key encrypts information, only the matching public key can decrypt the same information.

3.private keys are always kept private and never shared.

4.public keys are freely shared.
